About Living Synergy

Ancient cacao. Modern formulation science. Formulated in Hawaiʻi.

Cacao was once the drink of emperors, prized for how it made people feel. We exist to restore what two centuries of industry engineered out: the living biochemistry that made cacao the food of the gods.

Raw cacao, Non-fermented, Non-roasted, Cold-processed, Formulated in Hawaiʻi, Lab tested, Vegan capsules

Our story

Not Chocolate in a Capsule

Living Synergy started with a simple observation: Most of what reaches the shelf is chocolate: fermented, roasted, alkalized and sweetened until the compounds which can provide most of the health benefits are mostly gone.

Our founder is a formulation scientist with more than a decade in dietary supplement, functional food and sports nutrition product development, having taken 127+ products from initial concept through to finished production. Building a cold-process approach around cacao's fragile chemistry became the reason Living Synergy exists.

It was founded to give back what two centuries of chocolate-making took away.

The formulation rule

Synergy is not a marketing word here

Every Living Synergy formula starts with raw cacao and pairs it with one partner chosen to make it more useful. Each half does a job the other cannot.*

01

D3 + K2 + cacao

Vitamin D3 raises calcium absorption. Vitamin K2 decides where that calcium goes. Cacao flavanols support healthy blood flow. Three nutrients, one long-game job.*

02

Luteolin + cacao polyphenols

Cacao flavanols support blood flow and cognition; luteolin adds antioxidant and neuroprotective support for the cells that flow reaches.*

03

Theobromine + cacao mucilage

The lift from cacao's own methylxanthine, paired with polyphenols from the fruit pulp around the bean: two parts of the same plant, reunited.*

Where it all began

The food of the gods

Theobroma cacao translates as “food of the gods.” To the Maya, cacao was sacred; to the Aztecs, it was medicine, a warrior's ration and currency, drunk by nobility for strength, stamina and clarity. Spanish chroniclers described the ruler Moctezuma being served it in cups of gold, and Hernán Cortés is credited with describing a drink that gave “a feeling of power that enables a man to walk all day without fatigue.” Carried back to Spain by the conquistadors, cacao spread through the royal courts and chocolate houses of Europe, still as a bitter, energizing beverage valued for how it made people feel.

That experience was biochemical. Raw cacao carries flavanols, polyphenols and theobromine, along with anandamide and phenylethylamine: a molecular symphony associated with the euphoria, focus and heart-centered energy the ancients prized.

In 1828, Coenraad van Houten's cocoa press changed everything. Pressing and alkalization made chocolate cheap, mild, dark and uniform, and in the name of profit and industrial scale they stripped out most of that chemistry. Very few people alive today have ever felt what raw cacao actually does.
